QUIMPER OU ROUEN, Assiette à bords contournés en faïence émaillée polychrome à décor dit "à la corne", fin du XVIIIe siècle - début du XIXe siècle, lettre "D" en bleu sous couverte au revers - D. 24 cm environ (petites égrenures sur l'aile) "Géniale adaptation du cornet de fleurs en papier du répertoire Kakiemon japonais et de la corne d'abondance européenne, le décor "à la corne" s'épanouit jusqu'au début du XIXe siècle. Epousant avec bonheur la courbure de l'assiette ou du plat, de gros oeillets, bleus, rouges ou violets, noirs sur de rares exemples, jaillissent de la corne, celle-ci pouvant être redoublée. On parle alors de "décor à la double corne." Les fleurs, oiseaux, insectes qui occupent le reste de l'espace sont également d'origine japonaise. Abondamment copié, ce décor se trouve sur des pièces de Sinceny et de Quimper dès la fin du XVIIIe siècle." (source Christine Germain-Donnat).
