A SULTANABAD POTTERY COCKEREL-HEAD POTTERY EWER, PERSIA, 12TH CENTURY With compressed globular body rising from short vertical foot to cockerel-head mouth with pronounced comb, simple handle connecting the mouth with the body, decorated in cobalt blue and turquoise with a band of roundels enclosing flower heads amongst foliage under a band of foliage to the shoulder.
