A JAPANESE CAST-IRON OKIMONO DRAGON, MID 20TH CENTURY Nice cast-iron okimono 置物 shaped like a sinuous dragon 龍 (ryû). It is depicted standing on all fours, with its head thrown back in a roar toward the sky, as its tendrils gracefully wave backward around its face. Cast iron with a dark finish. Period: Japan -Mid-Shôwa period (Mid-20th century). Dimensions: Height 19.5 cm, Width 31 cm, Depth 14 cm. Weight 1.2 kg. In a very good original condition with traces of oxidation.
