A JAPANESE BRONZE FLOWER VASE
Fantastic dark brown patinated bronze 'à double usage' usubata 薄端 flower vase with a very broad everted mouth. The vase can be displayed two ways as the broad mouth is a separate part. Its rotund body decorated on both sides with a stylized silver and bronze inlaid design of feathery flowers surrounded by scrolling fines. Flanked by handles shaped like a stylized rain dragon 雨龍 (amaryû). Resting on three elegant leaf-shaped feet. Size with insert: Height 26.2 cm, Diameter 30.6 cm. Weight 4.4 kg. It is in a very good condition with some minor traces of age.
