Amazing Wajima lacquer 輪島塗 tea caddy 棗 (natsume) with an intricate covering design of stylized design of 'Monochoria korsakowii' 水葵蒔 (species of flowering plant), also known as 'heartleaf false pickerelweed'. The flowers encrusted with shiny iridescent white mother-of-pearl 螺鈿 (raden), and the plant excecuted in dark silver hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 (low-relief lacquer design). Surrounded by golden hiramaki-e swirls of the flowing meandering water the plants are growing from. Set on a glossy black lacquer ground 蝋色漆 (rôiro'urushi). Its interior finished with even black lacquer as well. This design was clearly inspired by the work of Ogata Kôrin, who was a famous artist of the Rinpa school.
