It’s showcased in a beautiful frame and ready to hang. The artwork is not a giclee or mass reproduction of any kind, rather an artist original. Without authentication paperwork, the art must be described as in the manner or style of Leroy Neiman. Limited edition signed serigraphs &/or lithographs sell for $9000 and more today. An authenticated original canvas the same likeness as this artwork is rarely available on the secondary market and has retail value between $40,000.00 - $60,000. This Neiman's piece is titled “Resting Tiger”. Neiman was one of the most famous American artists of the 20th century, renowned for his bold and colorful depictions of sports, entertainers, wildlife and much more. This piece is not accompanied by any supporting paperwork to establish further provenance or authenticity, however it is a piece that has been part of a consignor’s large estate collection for over 12 years, and only now is being auctioned with Intervendue Auction. The owner stated that he visited Neiman’s studio in NYC twice before Neiman died in 2012. According to the owner, his father was a physician/surgeon who treated Neiman many years before his death.
