In-4 oblong, contemporary brown chagrin, decorative embossed border to boards, gilt title "?Album?" to upper board (light halos to boards, one inner hinge cracked). Beautiful album including drawings and texts, engraved vignettes, accompanied by mounted autographs (including Girardin, Lamartine, Th. Gautier, G. Sand, Marie Amélie, Louis d'Orléans, Duc d'Aumale). And of which 2 paintings of Chinese figures, a full-page gouache depicting Vesuvius in eruption. Enclosed are 14 printed or engraved items, including 3 photographs; a drawing; and 27 autographed letters or bills, including Th. Botrel, Béranger, Lamartine to Girardin, and an autographed letter signed by Charles Dickens.
