Each finely embroidered in gold, green, and pink floss silks with bird motifs and geometric patterns. Comprised of one decorated with repeated square frames each enclosing stylized birds, and another with diamond and triangle patterns framed by a border of stylized birds. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, few loose threads, and minimal soiling. Provenance: Estate of Wolfgang Zacke (1942-2022), co-founder of Galerie Zacke, thence by descent. A CHAKHESANG NAGA HANDWOVEN AND EMBROIDERED SHAWL A CHAKHESANG NAGA HANDWOVEN AND EMBROIDERED SHAWL India, Nagaland, early – mid-20th century. The tasseled black shawl is embroidered with colorful motifs of animals, flowers, celestial objects, and phallic and yonic imagery in threads of white, red, yellow, and blue, all enclosed within narrow bands. Provenance: From an Austrian private collection. Condition: Good condition with wear, traces of use, loose threads, fraying, some tears, and minor soiling. Repairs to the centerfold.
