Manufacture de porcelaine de Darte à Paris, attributed to Baluster vase forming a clock in matte-red porcelain with amati gilded decoration of oak leaves and vine shoots on the front and sphinxes and interlacing flowers and foliage on the reverse. Enameled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, signed "Barrand à Paris" Balance wheel and key present. Gilded imperial eagle handles. Foot with pearl frieze and openwork foliage decoration on an imitation base decorated in relief with cherubs and gilded flowers. Height 31 cm 11.5 x 11.5 cm at the base. Empire period History: The Darte factory, located at number 21 Galerie d'Orléans - one of the first covered passages built by Pierre Fontain. A veritable epicenter of Parisian life, its luxury shops are the most renowned in the capital.
