Sèvres Hard porcelain plate from the Emperor's service in Stupinigi, decorated in brown imitation bronze with two torches in the center on a pink background, the wing decorated with vases, sword, torch, quiver and trunk in imitation bronze, surrounded by garlands of flowers. Marked in red: "Sèvres. XI." D. 23.8 cm. Wear to pink background and gilding. Provenance: This plate comes from the service with pink background garland of flowers and attributes delivered to Emperor Napoleon I on 8 pluviôse an 13 (January 28, 1805) for the imperial palace of Stupinigi in Turin, where the Emperor resided prior to his coronation as King of Italy in May 1805. The service included ninety-six plates decorated with attributes in the center and garlands of flowers and attributes in imitation bronze on the side.
