Description

Covered travel pot from, from General Aubry de la Boucharderie. In silver with applied decoration, of a column decorated with the N under an Imperial crown, carried by two cherubs with the inscription "au grand capitaine", a harpist and an architect. Engraved at the top with C. AUBRY. Decorated with friezes of water leaves and laurel leaves. Turned ebony handle and lid. Chased mobile handle. Marked 1st cock Paris 1809-1819. Goldsmith Louis Tassin Paris 1804-1814. Couvercle Coq 1er type du royaume de Hollande sous l'Empire Français 1810-1814. Height: 10 cm. Diameter : 7 cm. Weight : 240 g approx. B.E. 1st Empire period. 1 000 / 1 500 € History : Claude Charles Aubry de La Boucharderie (1773-1813) General and baron of the Empire; He distinguished himself in the artillery, notably at the battle of Essling, where he built a bridge under enemy fire. Noted in the same circumstances at Berezina, he died of amputation in Leipzig.
