BOUTET A VERSAILLES Pair of officer's combat flintlock pistols by Marshal Dode de la Brunerie. Fully blued, hair-rifled barrels, slightly blunderbussed at the muzzles, signed on the upper sides "BOUTET DIRECTEUR ARTISTE", decorated with gold at the muzzles and thunderbolts, hallmarked "CB" "NB" and "LC". Cut-out breech tails with sights. Lock plates signed "MANUFr A VERSAILLES" decorated with friezes and flat-bodied swan-neck dogs. Oval basins with large spark guards. Plain cut-iron fittings. Walnut mounts. Quadrilateral crosses with long shafts (small chips and missing parts around one of the caps). All screws are guilloché. Wooden sticks with iron and brass pastillé horn tips. A.B.E. (To be cleaned, one hammer invoiced but complete). First Empire period. Length : 36 cm. Provenance : -Marechal Guillaume Dode de la Brunerie, -Then descendants.
