Sèvres Plate from the marli d'or service with polychrome decoration in the center of one of the Emperor's horses named on the reverse: LE SELIM, accompanied by a seated Arab, a saddle on the ground, the gold-backed wing decorated with palmettes and pearls burnished to effect. Signed lower right: Swebach. Marked on the reverse: M. Imple de Sèvres 8. Empire period, 1808. D. 23.5 cm. Sold in collaboration with Maître Sylvain Mallié-Arcelin Auctioneer Provenance: Offered by Emperor Napoleon I on September 19, 1808 to Géraud Christophe Michel du Roc dit Duroc, duc de Frioul, grand marshal of Napoleon's palace (1772-1813).
