FRENCH SCHOOL circa 1800, entourage of Riesener Presumed portraits of Louis de Buisseret, page to Louis XVI and his wife Marie de Sainte Aldegonde. de Sainte Aldegonde, a parrot in the background Canvas Height : 146 cm Width : 114 cm No frame Monogrammed left: JS (?) linked M (?) f. lower left dated 180...1(?) and monogrammed on the vase SAB (probably for Sainte Aldegonde de Buisseret). Old restorations According to family tradition, the portrait represents Louis de Buisseret, page to Louis XVI and his wife Marie de Sainte Aldegonde. The parrot is a reference to the Buisseret family's property in Cayenne in the 18th century. Buisseret properties in Cayenne in the 18th century. Biography : Louis Henri Joseph de BUISSERET STEENBECQUE de BLARENGHIEN (1765-1845) After returning from emigration, he settled in Versailles. Former page to King Louis XVI in his great stable (1779), second lieutenant in the Royal-Suèdois Regiment, of which his great-uncle, the of which his great-uncle, the comte de Sparre, was colonel-owner. ensign in the French Guards Regiment, and in 1786 captain in the captain in the Royal-Dragons regiment, chevalier of the Royal and Militaire de Saint-Louis (received from the hands of S.A.R. monseigneur le duc de Berry, August 1814).
