Description

Light cavalry officer's saber, hunter style. Leather-covered handle with double filigree. Three-pronged hilt and two shuttle-shaped mounts, one stamped "BRUN". Flat-backed curved blade, hollow sides, engraved in thirds (traces of gold). Scabbard made of iron plate, with two bracelets and two brass rings. Asymmetrical iron sting. A.B.E. (Missing bowl). First Empire - Restoration period. A "Brun", listed as a gunmaker in Paris in 1812-1818.
