Travel kit for Michel Pierre, Captain of the Imperial Guard mounted chasseurs. Mahogany, truncated cone shape, decorated with a brass shield. Length: 16 cm. Diameter: 6.5 cm. It contains : A silver kettledrum with vermeil interior (Ht 7 cm) containing a six-place form featuring : An ivory salt and pepper shaker with unscrewable compartments. One folding knife. Blade signed "A PARIS". One folding spoon. One folding fork. Ivory handles with silver trim and shields (blank). On the cutlery: Poinçons de titre 1 et de moyenne garantie Paris 1809-1819. Goldsmiths' association hallmark. Goldsmith's hallmark not legible. B.E. (key missing, small cracks, two elements missing). First Empire-Restoration period. Biography : Michel PIERRE (1786-1851) Son-in-law of General Ordener, he began his career with his father as a troupe boy in the 10th Regiment of Mounted Chasseurs. He spent most of his career with this regiment, moving on to the chasseurs à cheval de la garde with the rank of captain in 1813, then to the éclaireurs de la Garde in 1813. Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1807, then Officer in 1814.
