In 1960, he established a workshop in Forest Hill, London, with Alan Wallwork, whilst lecturing at Goldsmiths College and St. Mary's College, London University. In 1967 Rooke moved to Ipswich, where he opened the Bernard Rooke Gallery. Rooke's works have been exhibited in the UK and abroad, and are held in collections such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, Leicester Museum, and Trondheim Museum, Norway, to name but a few.
