Description

Théophile GAUTIER (1836-1904) Autograph letter signed, on the letterhead of Le Figaro Illustré, dated August 23, 1892, addressed to the man of letters Abraham Dreyfus, concerning a manuscript that has not been found. "René Martin told me about a manuscript you gave to the Figaro Illustré. I can find no trace of it anywhere, either in my notebooks, which I keep regularly, or in my memory. If I'd had anything from you, I certainly wouldn't have buried it in my boxes, because it would have been an event in my life. One page in-8, in brown ink, small ink smudges.
