A HENAN BLACK GLAZED JAR, SONG DYNASTY A HENAN BLACK GLAZED JAR, SONG DYNASTY China, 960-1279. Heavily potted, the ovoid body surmounted by a short neck with a lipped rim, flanked by a pair of strap handles, covered overall in a thick lustrous black glaze accentuated with russet around the lip and handles, the glaze finely pooling and stopping irregularly around the center of the body, revealing the buff-colored ware. Provenance: British private collection. A noted French private collector, acquired from the above. Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, light surface scratches, small chips to the foot ring, and firing flaws including firing cracks and pottery lines. A QINGBAI GLAZED ‘TWIN FISH’ BOWL, SONG DYNASTY A QINGBAI GLAZED ‘TWIN FISH’ BOWL, SONG DYNASTY China, Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). Of conical form, molded to the interior with a twin fish emerging from crashing waves, covered in a Qingbai glaze suffused with a dense network of crackles safe for the upper rim and base. The base with a later added, hand painted, inscription. Provenance: French trade. Condition: Good condition with old wear, firing flaws including dark spots, a small chip and a hairline to the upper rim, with possible touchups. Weight: 226 g Dimensions: Diameter 16.7 cm
