[Atlas]. CHAPPE D'AUTEROCHE (abbé). Geographic and mineralogical map of the route from Brest to Paris and from Paris to Tobolsk in Siberia. Divided into 9 sheets. S.l., s.n., [circa 1770]. In-folio, period half-basane (binding very worn; wetness, pl.XII torn in margin, XV torn without missing). Atlas of maps engraved by Chalmandrier, also including folding sections, and preceded by a frontispiece engraved by Tillard after Le Prince. The title page on the spine bears "Voyage en Sibérie", a work by the author that this atlas was probably intended to accompany. [1] frontispiece, 29 maps or sections, numbered I to XXVII, and 2 unnumbered. Provenance: Victor George Spencer (1934-2017), 3rd Viscount Churchill and 5th Baron Churchill, by descent.
