This watercolor (cage of birds, in front of a half-open window) is signed with the monogram C. de P. J. Clot; It is placed opposite a handwritten poem (4 quatrains), in blue ink, monogrammed C (P. J. Clot), illustrated by the watercolor: "Juillet. The sun plays at the shutters. Among the closed room, objects fall asleep... Provenance: Lucienne Cournut, painter. Lucienne Cournut and René-Jean Clot exchanged letters during his stay in Algeria. Then through Lucienne Cournut's descendants.
