BACHELET Emile-Just (1892-1981) - HENRIOT-QUIMPER "Bigoudène au cochon" or "Retour de foire à Pont-l'Abbé" (Return from a fair in Pont-l'Abbé) White-glazed, cracked earthenware group, monogrammed "EJB" on the side of the terrace. Henriot/ Quimper/ France" mark and recessed cross under the base. Circa 1925 (Slight chips, wear). Height 22.5 cm x W 28.7 cm x D 14.5 cm Emile-Just BACHELET attended the Nancy Ecole des Beaux-Arts until 1912, where he frequented Victor Prouvé's studio. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1920, then at the Salon d'Automne, the 1925 Decorative Arts exhibition, ... His first contact with Henriot was through his meeting with Mathurin Méheut in the early 1920s, who was looking for new artists. This collaboration lasted from 1924 to the very early 1930s. The majority of his designs, however, were created between 1924 and 1925.
