Jim-Eugène SEVELLEC (1897-1971) The Legion Large gouache and watercolor on paper, circa 1940 Signed with the naval anchor and titled lower right, dedicated lower left to M. Boudier, framed under glass. Small stains. Sight size 60 x 45 cm Jim-Eugène Sévellec was appointed painter to the navy in 1936. This 1940 gouache illustrates the embarkation in the port of Brest of the Legionnaires of the 13th DBMLE (demi-brigade de marche de Légion étrangère) of the CEFS (French Expeditionary Corps in Scandinavia) aboard the liners / troop transports assigned to each unit.
