Jean MAZUET (1908-1984) Orpheus riding a sea horse Polychrome glazed earthenware subject Manufacture Keraluc Quimper, circa 1948 Signed with the monogram "JM" on the base and on the reverse "Keraluc près Quimper RL". Height cm x Length 19 cm x Width 8 cm Born in Saint-Brieuc, Jean Mazuet trained in the workshop of sculptor Elie Le Goff. He entered the École des Beaux-arts in Rennes in 1924, then the ENSBA in Paris in 1928. He joined the Seiz Breur in 1934, and was awarded a medal of honor at the 1937 Universal Exhibition for the monumental column he designed with Marcel Le Louët in front of the Brittany pavilion.
