SANFOURCHE Jean Joseph (1929-2010). "Laughter". Large oil on canvas signed lower right and titled. 117 x 83 cm. Provenance: PAGANI gallery in Castelanzza, authenticated by Monsieur Thuillier. SANFOURCHE Jean-Joseph (Bordeaux 1929 - Saint-Léonard de Noblat 2010) French painter, poet, draughtsman and sculptor. A practitioner of art brut, he was a friend of Gaston Chaissac and Jean Dubuffet, with whom he maintained a long correspondence. Today, his work is recognized and exhibited worldwide. Sanfourche, who had to fight for recognition during his lifetime, is today one of the leading figures in the art singulier movement.
