DAGHESTAN (Caucasus) carpet, late 19th century Dimensions: 168 x 108cm. Technical features: Wool velvet on wool foundation. An ivory field supports a leafy honeycomb trellis, adorned with small brick tulips. Anthracite main border with a succession of tricolored entomic shapes, flanked by brick counter-borders with small crosses, bayadères and "S" garlands. Dagestan "witness". (Worn, as is)
