A. H. van Lambalgen, Allegorie des Großstadtlebens an emaciated street dog, searching for something edible in the rubbish, in the background a dull silhouette of the city, the dynamic arrangement of geometric forms typical of Futurism successfully illustrates both the sparseness of urban life and its dynamics, the cylindrical waste bin appears as a relatively deliberately oversized counterpoint to the ashlars of the houses, acrylic on textured chipboard, mid-20th century, signed (probably monogrammed monogrammed first name "A H v Lambalgen" in ligature) at the bottom right, small losses in the paint layer in places that do not detract from the overall impression, presented in matching white moulding, folded dimensions approx. 89 x 51.5 cm.

Folds. Provenance: given by the artist as a token of love to a friend, then passed on to her heirs by inheritance.
