A specialist archaeologist of Egypt and Iran, geologist, biologist and engineer, Jacques de Morgan was a true scholar, responsible for numerous excavations in Egypt, Armenia (notably Akhtala, where he denounced the genocide) and Iran, and published numerous articles and reviews. His most famous discovery was the Code of Hammurabi, exhumed during a mission he led.
