Slight marginal staining. Good specimen. Important print, of great impact, depicting the execution of Louis XVI by guillotine on January 21, 1793 in Place de la Révolution. His death marked the end of an era and a regime. The caption refers to the king as 'Louis Capet' because during the Revolution he was called Louis Capet, as he was a descendant of Hugh Capet, the founder of the dynasty, with the intention of desecrating his status as king.
