GENÍS CAPDEVILA PUIG (Barcelona, 1860 - 1932). "Smoker. Oil on canvas. Signed. It presents a Puncture. Measurements: 40 x 36 cm; 52 x 42 cm (frame). Painter specialized in the scenes of genre, the costumbrismo and the pictures of flowers, Genís Capdevila participated, between 1894 and 1929, in most of the exhibitions celebrated in Barcelona. His contribution to the Universal Exposition of Barcelona in 1929, a large canvas entitled "Primavera" (Spring), stands out. He was also a member of the Agrupación de Acuarelistas de Cataluña. In 1936, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of his death, a group of friends and admirers held an event in his memory in Barcelona. Genís Capdevila is currently represented in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, as well as in outstanding collections such as the Joaquín Rivero.
