"Saint Benedict or Benedict" Romanesque sculpture carved in wood, polychrome and gilded, Northern Castile, last third of the 12th century. Romanesque example in the seated attitude and hieraticism. The original polychrome of the black habit is striking, which was not common in the Middle Ages. He has lost his hands and in his lap he has a hole that would possibly be covered by some element related to the invocation. Height: 106cm
