Celebrations of the admiral's victories (and supposed victories) were widely celebrated in England. Over 300 different medals were struck to celebrate the battles of Porto Bello, Chagre, Cartagena, and Havana. The vast majority of these medals are made of pinchbeck, an alloy of about five parts copper to one part zinc, used as an imitation of gold. Much more expensive and finer, about 30 medals were minted, very scarce in the market.
