CUZQUEÑA SCHOOL 18th century El Paso Cedron Oil on canvas Measurements 55.5 x 72.8 cm This primitive viceregal style painting represents an unusual scene in the History of Art. It is about the passage of the Kidron River, a scene from the Passion. After being captured in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus is taken home to Annas crossing the Kidron River, which is located in the valley of the same name, next to the Mount of Olives. In this scene we find Jesus crossing the river and surrounded by soldiers who make way for him. On the right appear what appear to be the apostles who are being expelled by one of them.
