Chased and gilded bronze "astronomie" clock featuring Uranie reading, leaning against a rectangular post decorated with a bookcase, above which is a bronze dial with Roman numeral hours, encircled by a crown of palmettes. It is surmounted by a celestial globe, a crown, books and a compass flanked by an astronomical telescope and a sextant presented on a pedestal. The rectangular base is decorated with a bas-relief depicting antique-style men using these tools, and stands on four feet. Restoration period. Height: 45 cm; Length: 32 cm; Width: 13 cm.
