1955 EMW 327/328 Serial number 88096 Engine number E1084 21544 KM East German registration to restore In the post-war years, the Eisenach car plant, 60% of which was destroyed, was rebuilt - first under Soviet administration, then later as a company of the Industrial Association for Vehicle Construction. After a legal dispute with the now West German BMW Group, the name was changed to Eisenacher Motoren Werke (EMW) in June 1952. Around the same time, production of the almost unchanged pre-war 327 resumed under the name EMW 327. A coupé version of the 327 (under the designation 327/3) was also hand-built between 1953 and 1955. On the coupé, the doors were also hinged forward. 152 examples were built, mainly for export. The BMW 327/28 is the sportiest version, with its three-carburetor engine producing 80 hp (59 kW). The car presented here is all original, a 2nd hand model that has always been in the family. It's an old restoration that will need to be restarted in order to undergo a technical inspection.
