Titanic: International Mercantile Marine Co. Stock Certificate Signed by Irénée du Pont Partly-printed DS, one page, 11.5 x 7.5, no date. Stock certificate for 100 shares of preferred capital stock in the International Mercantile Marine Company, parent of the White Star Line (owner of the RMS Titanic), issued to notable businessman Irénée du Pont, and endorsed on the reverse by du Pont. Impressively cloth-matted and framed with an image of the Titanic and a plaque to an overall size of 21.5 x 31.25, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition. A descendant of gunpowder-manufacturing millionaire E. I. DuPont, Irénée (1876-1963) entered the family business in 1902 and served as president of the DuPont company from 1919-1925, overseeing the diversification of the firm's interests.
