Pavel Kopáček, Sommerliche Seelandschaft View over green meadows and blue lakes to a mountain landscape gently rising to a range of hills under a cloudy sky, impasto, impressionistic landscape painting with broad brushstrokes, oil on canvas, signed and dated "P. Kopáček [19]59", annotations on the reverse of the canvas, minor craquelure, stretcher showing through, framed, rebated dimensions approx. 65 x 120 cm. Artist information: also Pavel Kopacek, Czech landscape and still life painter (1923 Nové Město na Moravě [Eng.: Neustadt in Mähren] to 1996 Nové Město na Moravě), studied at the Tomáš Baťa University School of Art in Zlín under Karel Hofman and Vencenc Makovsky, further training at the Prague Academy under Otakar Nejedlý, then worked briefly in Prague, then again in Nové Město na Moravě, found his motifs mainly in the Horácko [Moravian Horakenland], undertook study trips to Switzerland, France, the GDR, Austria, the FRG, Poland, Yugoslavia, Canada, the USA and to the Black Sea in Bulgaria, member of the Association of Czechoslovak Fine Artists and the Horáck Fine Artists' Club, worked for the Czech Fund of Fine Arts in Jihlava, honoured with the title "Meritorious Artist", active in Nové Město na Moravě, source: Czech Wikipedia.
