Est. Instructions sur le rituel de Langres, by M. César-Guillaume de la Luzerne, bishop of Langres. Besançon, Jacques-François Couché, [1786]. Fort in-4 marbled basane, ornate ribbed spine, tan t.p., speckled blue tr. (period binding). Printed on blue paper. Text in two columns. Very small worm hole in ext. margin of first few leaves. Interesting copy of this Langres ritual that belonged to Gilbert-Paul Aragones d'Orcet (1762-1832), bishop of Langres from 1823 to 1832, with his armorial bookplate. The bishopric of Langres was suppressed in 1802, following the resignation of bishop César-Guillaume de la Luzerne, who had refused the civil constitution of the clergy. Gilbert-Paul Aragones d'Orcet was created bishop of Langres when the bishopric was reconstituted in 1823. Old, restored epidermures, minor worm damage to back covers and first and last leaves, otherwise good condition.
