Paris, Club du Livre, Philippe Lebaud, 1972. 3 volumes. 21.5 by 26 cm. 2 volumes in full havana basane with cold arabic decoration, gilt head, silk endpapers, in publisher's green cloth slipcase. A slipcase imitating a set of two volumes, containing a facsimile of Ibn Al-Bawwab's manuscript of the Qur'an, in full basane with 3 ribbed spines, cold-decorated boxes, boards decorated with a cold arabizing motif. And a study on this manuscript in full green percaline. Some rubbing on the spines, as is often the case, but not serious. Excellent condition inside. Numbered copy on Lana vellum (2022). Very fine facsimile. Beautiful color and gold silkscreens by Charles Hossein Zenderoudi. One of the few modern editions of the Koran that is both serious and elegant.
