Colored poster celebrating the national day of remembrance held in Compiègne from 15 to 18 August 1946. The lithographic poster depicts four men embracing: one in military clothing, one in a helmet, one in the clothes of a rural worker and a flat cap, and a bald man in the striped clothes of a concentration camp prisoner. Behind them is a desolate and destroyed landscape, typical of urban scenes after bombings. At the bottom of the illustration, the organizing bodies of the event are listed.Guy Georget (1911 - 1992) was a French artist, cartoonist, long active in the creation of tourist propaganda posters.
