At the top the heading "1ère armee française"; under the text the writing " Le General de Brigade Billotte / Cdt. les Bezirks de Treves et Coblence / signé: Billlotte"; bottom center "Imprimerie Bohmer Druckerei." Good condition. Very rare and important document on the French occupation of the Rhénanie Hesse Nassau district. Ordinance signed by Brigadier General Pierre Billotte, 1906-1992, war hero, liberator of Paris. "La France occupe les Bezirks de coblence et treves à dater du 10 Juillet 1945 à 10 h. et en assure l'administration. Aucune mesure spéciale ne sera prise vis-à-vis des habitants qui n'ont pas à craindre de sévices... Toutefois la Population est avertie que tout attentat, sabotage ou indiscipline, seront durement réprimés.... Pour un soldat blessé ou tué, 10 Allemands exécutés."
