The centerpiece is decorated with fantastic mythological figures, two mermaids surrounded by cherubs at the bottom and an imposing sphinx crouched as a lid. Similar drawings by the famous Florentine painter, pupil of Ridolfo del Ghirlandaio and collaborator of Raphael can be found at the MAK, Museum für angewandte Kunst, in Vienna.
