The view depicts the scene of a battle off the coast of Pernambuco on the east coast of Brazil. On the top the indication of the Latin denomination of the fortress. Map take from the work: "De nieuwe en onbekende weereld" (Dutch) or "The New and Unknown World" (English). The work was published in Amsterdam in 1671 by Jacon Meurs.
