Artist information: German painter and restorer (1911 Freiburg im Breisgau - 2009 ibid.) completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter, 1929 studied painting at the Badische Landeskunstschule in Karlsruhe under Georg Scholz, also attended the etching class under Walter Conz, 1932/33 master student with his own studio under Hermann Goebel, however he cancelled his master student status for political reasons, then at the Munich Art Academy under Julius Hess, acquired his master's certificate in 1940, immediately before his military service, he processed what he had experienced during the war in many sketches and then worked as a freelancer in Freiburg-Zähringen, 1960/69 chairman of the South Baden Association of Fine Arts, alternating with sculptor Walter Schelenz, worked until 2001.
