Affiche Ancienne Original vintage rail travel poster for Edinburgh - The Scott Monument - featuring a scenic view of the Victorian Gothic monument (1846) for the renowned Scottish author and historian Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) by the notable painter and poster artist Claude Buckle (1905-1973) depicting people enjoying the sunshine in the Princes Street Gardens with the Jenners department store building in the background and trees in the foreground, the tower reaching into the blue sky with a tree branch framing the image above. Poor condition, missing text at the bottom, folds, creasing, pinholes, staining, bottom edge roughly trimmed.
