Unknown Affiche Ancienne Original vintage travel poster featuring a dramatic photograph of a painted clay demon from the Late Nara Period (710-794 AD) in the Shinjakushiji Buddhist temple focused on the face with hair standing up in flames and mouth wide open as if shouting set against a dark background with the Japanese text vertically on the left and below in golden lettering. Bazara Meikira is one of Twelve Heavenly Generals (729-749) protecting the principal Yakushi Nyorai buddha of healing and medicine at the Shin-Yakushi-ji temple, which was founded in 747 by the Kegon sect in Nara Japan by Empress Komyo (701-760) of the Fujiwara clan.
