Extremely rare letter from French Guiana franked in 1852 with a 10c Cérès and a 25c Cérès feather cancellation, at the rate of 35c by commercial vessels for France. The stamps are margés. Oval cachet "Poste aux lettres de Cayenne Guyane française" undated and badly struck as is often the case, used by the Cayenne office from 1852 to 1858. The few known letters at this rate are not franked and bear the 35 double stroke tax.
