Clément MASSIER (1844-1917)- Golfe Juan Oval-view plaster bas-relief depicting the head of Christ crucified, monogrammed MCM and dated 1901 on the back. 53 x 42 cm Provenance: Clément Massier family home - Golfe Juan (artist's private collection) Clément's MCM signature dates from 1900-1901. The artist pays tribute to his wife, who died in 1900, by associating her name with the initial Marie, symbolizing, in Roman numerals, the year of her death.
