Dorando Pietri: London 1908 Olympics Original Marathon Photograph Original vintage glossy 6.5 x 5 photo of Italian runner Dorando Pietri after having collapsed from exhaustion near the finish line of the men’s marathon at the London 1908 Games. The photo shows two umpires attending to Pietri as well as the packed stands of the Olympic Stadium in the background. The reverse bears a Brown Brothers of New York photo stamp and pencil notations that read “Dorando collapsing just before the finish, Brown Brothers.” In very good to fine condition, with evenly trimmed edges, two clipped corners, and some creasing to edges.
