Some of his most famous scores include Wuthering Heights, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Mark of Zorro, How Green Was My Valley, The Song of Bernadette, Captain from Castile, All About Eve, Love is a Many Splendored Thing, Anastasia, The Diary of Anne Frank, How The West Was Won, and The Greatest Story Ever Told. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of the United Artists Studios music department head, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "For Verna Arvey, Sincerely, Alfred Newman, Hollywood—Oct. 1st.” In very good condition, with scattered stains and creases, surface impression to his forehead from a typed notation on the back, and a fleck of emulsion loss affecting the poorly contrasted signature.
